AEGIS SCRIBE 1.2 beta — IMPORTANT NOTICE

Free during the open beta. Provided "as is", without warranty of any kind.
This open beta expires on April 20, 2027.
After that you can still unlock, view and export your notes, but creating or editing notes requires the full version.
Aegis Scribe is the intellectual property of Tatiana Green and James Murphy.

Saved notes are encrypted on device. Aegis Scribe does not log into any EHR,
does not use EHR vendor APIs, and makes no outbound network connections:
client statements and notes are not sent to a cloud AI or to any server.
(The Linux build's browser page talks only to its own local host on
127.0.0.1:8741.)

What is implemented:
  • A passphrase you choose; AES-256-GCM encryption of everything Aegis saves
(key from PBKDF2-SHA-256, 600,000 iterations, random salt)
  • No recovery if the passphrase is forgotten, except an optional recovery
key you create and keep yourself
  • Auto-lock after inactivity (default 5 minutes), when the window is hidden
or minimized, when the computer sleeps, and on demand (⌘L / Ctrl+L)
  • Optional clipboard clearing after copying (default 60 seconds), only if
the clipboard still holds Aegis's text
  • A strict Content-Security-Policy on the app pages
  • No audit log

Aegis Scribe is not HIPAA certified and does not replace:

  • your Notice of Privacy Practices and policies
  • workforce training
  • workstation full-disk encryption and an OS screen lock
  • agreements with any other vendor you use
  • filing the signed note in the legal medical record (the EHR)

Do not document an exam that did not occur. Objective findings start as
"Not assessed" for that reason.

When retiring a computer, open Settings → "Erase all data" to delete the
encrypted vault, or use "Erase all data and start over…" on the lock screen
(under "Forgot your passphrase?").
